Preparing to leave for Spain

Getting back to blogging

Preparations

OK, so I haven't been blogging for many years, and in the meantime I've aged. Unfortunately, not quite like a fine wine, more like one that produces lots of sediment that I'm trying to work through so I can remember how all this functions!

I've been spurred on by Cam Ashcroft's blog of his and Stu's amazing adventures in Africa (I'd put a link in here if I knew how and after I've asked Cam if that's OK). Anyhow, lets get started!

Fortunately there are videos on YouTube on how to do this, but I do need to watch them!

A whimsical autumn leaf, waving me goodbye
Goodbye Canberra autumn, hello Spanish Summer!

I'm all packed and almost ready, with nearly a day to spare. Already I've been hit by the you-got-ready-too-early problems of digging through my suitcase to discover that I had already packed what I couldn't remember.

The morning of my flight

We went for a last walk around Weston Park, in search of kangaroos to show people that they really do exist in cities in Oz. It was a balmy 7 degrees as we strolled past the lake, many beautiful trees, tons of birds and a few kangaroos.

Although I will miss Canberra at this time of the year, I'll cope with 25+ degrees, sun, food, wine and catching up with friends.
